Job Summary:

The Activities Coordinator helps to plan and implement community activities and events. This position provides exceptional customer service and ensures our residences have enjoyable and memorable experiences within our community.

Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Researches, evaluates, approves, develops, and modifies community activities and events (both on and off site), according to resident interests.
  • Determines resident activity and event preferences, talents, and needs through regular interaction and feedback from residents.
  • Maintains an activities and events calendar that provides a variety of experiences for all residents.
  • Tracks resident participation for all activities and events and adjusts calendar accordingly.
  • Shares the activity programs available in the community and the vision for the community.
  • Conducts appropriate and engaging activities for various age groups.
  • Develops supply lists for upcoming activities and events within specified budgets.
  • Communicates regularly and professionally with managers and other staff members at the community to gather ideas and feedback.
  • Coordinates with third party marketing partner to assist with marketing campaign and event exposure.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications as well as applications related to the specific position. The ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and scheduling skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based upon residents’ needs and preferences.
  • A creative and innovative mindset is required to develop unique activities tailored for the community residents.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • A positive attitude and team orientation that is exhibited in verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • The ability to use independent judgment comfortably and discretion to make decisions designed to achieve company expectations and goals for the community.
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license from the state where the community is located before driving a company-owned vehicle or before driving his/her own vehicle on company property.
  • Knowledge of activities and events that take place in the area surrounding the community is a strong plus.

Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility:

  • Does not supervise or lead.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One plus year of related experience and/or training in a related field.
  • Experience as an Activities Coordinator is a strong plus.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, (including using tools or controls customary to the position), standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching or lifting with hands and arms. Must be able to hear clearly (with or without the use of a hearing aid) and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus (with or without the use of glasses or contact lenses).
